Rumors from Comic-Con are that USA Network is talking to Fox about the possibility of producing a prequel to Burn Notice that will cover Sam Axe’s life prior to helping his friend, burned spy Michael Westin. Series Creator Matt Nix and other panelists were asked about the chance for a straight-to-DVD Burn Notice feature film. Nix was quoated as saying “We’ve entertained the idea”. “We all start thinking, ‘Wow, we should crash two helicopters into each other. Maybe we need a movie budget.’ ”

Bruce Campbell made the promise that anything related to Burn Notice would never rely on CGI effects. “Matt just blows [things] up,” said Campbell. The actor also alluded to his “Evil Dead” past and predicted that the Burn Notice writers would create a spinoff called “Dead Notice.” Campbell received many applause and laughter for almost everything he said or did, such arching an eyebrow. Campbell is a huge star at Comic-Con thanks to his work on Evil Dead, this left other panelist fighting for attention.

After Donovan finally stopped he told the officer, “Sorry, I didn’t see the red light or your stopped car.”

The smell of booze was in the air and the officer asked Donovan if he had been drinking to which he advised the police officer he had some cocktails.

A filed sobriety test ensued and Donovan flunked. Donovan said, “The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with 3 glasses of wine”.

Ben Shenkman

Ben Shenkman, a Tony and Golden Globe-nominated actor,  has joined the cast of Burn Notice for a minimum of four episodes.  His character is the man who can make Michael Westen’s burn notice disappear forever.

Shenkman last appeared on Grey’s Anatomy as the husband who was out to get Derek for killing his sick wife.  His character on Burn Notice will be Tom Strickler, a freelance spy broker who offers to cancel Michael’s burn notice for an unspecified job.

Shenkman will first appear half way through the third season which will begin airing on June 4th.
